I was impressed in that this product did not "mist" all over my furniture as they did in the early days of humidifiers. The air was remarkably more moist. I am writing this review because I was searching for a new unit for my dad who suffers from COPD and lives in Arizona where the air is dry as can be. I saw all the negative feedback and was amazed. My unit works well. It is not noiseLESS however its soft hum is worth the moist air and relief it supplies.
I liked this unit. I set it up and the humidity went up in my apartment by 12% with it on low. It is a little bit noisy but nothing too big. It just sounds like water bubbling. Kind of relaxing, really.
We bought this product about 6 months ago, it has run non stop in our bedroom. It is kinda noisy but the sound makes everything else drown out. The tank runs less than 20 hours it would maybe run the 20 hours on the low setting. The removable tank makes filling easier and because the water goes through the perma wick feature you dont have a wet carpet from the moist water coming out. I think this is a great product, I would definetley buy this again I love hunter and the reliability of their products.
About 7 months ago I purchased this product, and what can I tell you besides it is my saving grace. I sleep with it every night. This humidifier gives me the relief I need since I have allergies, and sinus problems. before I had this product I was constantly waking up with a dry throat and a stuffy nose, and over all feeling run down... Then when I got this humidifier within 2 weeks I really started to notice a difference... I was able to sleep better, and wake up feeling like I was ready for the day... Just make sure you do not have it on all day because you want some dryness in the air... The best time to have it on is when you are sleeping so you wake up refreshed...or use as needed... But this product Rocks!
We went through two of these. The first one was used for about two months and just stopped running. (think the motor blew- cause it smelled hot). Second one had a continuous dripping noise that was annoying. (not the normal noises). Paid a little more & thought wed get a better product-not the case.
I purchased this item because it claimed to be care-free and have permanent filters that never needed to be replaced. I understand that it would still need to be cleaned regularly, but I did not realize that meant every few days to get the mold off. The humidifier is supposed to block the growth of mold. However, the inside always has mold on it and the parts are rusting. In addition, I cannot get replacement filters because these are permanent. They are also moldy, so I am going to have to replace the entire unit. How is it going to help my child if he is breathing mold??
I purchased this item thinking it would be a good value for the money due the permanent filter and the supposedly quiet operation. Wrong on all counts!! About a month after I purchased the humidifier, it started making horrible noises at night. I will not be buying an expensive humidifier ever again, the $10 ones work better than this one!
Just bought this last night and was excited to get it home and use it. It is very big (which would have been ok if everything else worked properly and didn't have to change any filters). The unit is VERY LOUD, even on the lowest setting. You can hear it from downstairs. Should have read the reviews before purchasing. I was trying to avoid the "mold" issue I've had with others and this one seems to be no better. Still searching!
I bought one of these from the store and within a month it stopped working. I called the company (Hunter Fans) and they replaced the unit 4 times and every one of them has failed. I WILL NOT buy another one. Save your money!
Bought this due to the care free, never needs replacing, mold resistant filters and because it said it was ultra quiet. So disappointed. It's very LOUD, and the "anti-microbial" filters grew mold after just a month of use. Wouldn't recommend at all.
